Ohio Business Filing Tips

OH Business Filings

If you’re starting a new business in Ohio, your registered agent will have to sign your filing.  We pre-sign these forms and make them instantly available in your online account.

If you’re registering a corporation from out of state, an officer has to sign the paperwork and the officer’s signature needs to be notarized.

If you’re registering an out of state LLC, you’re lucky. There are no notary requirements for foreign LLCs.

Ohio can only accept mailed in filings.  They don’t offer any online or fax filing options.

There are no annual report requirements for entities registered with the Ohio Secretary of State.  There is a $150 minimum tax payment required by the Ohio Department of Revenue just to file zero income tax returns.

The Ohio forms are a little wordy.  We provide marked-up forms and tips on how to fill their forms out correctly so your Ohio business filing won’t be denied by the Secretary of State.
